EB Motorsport in Jay Leno’s Garage

We were pleased to see our products in a great video by Jay Leno’s garage on a pair of hot rod 911 builds by Marlon Goldberg in Los Angeles, California.

This former Singer employee has now gone it alone and is building some very smart air-cooled Porsches. For his latest 1974 impact-bumper project, Marlon chose to use our SC RS bumpers for narrow-body cars front and rear and the results are pretty special.

The base car is a 1974 2.7 911 Sportomatic, which was media blasted and restored from a bare metal shell. Build pics on the workshop5001 website show the attention to detail that was brought to bear on this project: it all looks just like how we prefer to work on our own 911 builds.

The list of parts used on this build is everything one could wish for on a high-end contemporary hot rod. A 3.8-litre engine making 339 bhp on the dyno, custom 915 transmission with WEVO shifter, Ohlins suspension – also as favoured by our WEVO friends – and a welded cage, with red leather trim on the precious few trimmed parts inside.

The smooth and lightweight EB SC RS bumpers were tweaked for this application, with a cut-out in the nose feeding one of three oil coolers. Body and bumpers were painted in a modern interpretation of Mexico Blue and the whole thing looks terrific on 7 & 8 x 15″ Fuchs with Pirelli Trofeo rubber.

The bumpers are available direct from EB here in the UK or through our US distributor, Rothsport Racing. Contact us to discuss these bumpers or any of our products for classic Porsche 911s.
