Porsche 911 Engine Mounted Racing Oil Filter
The Engine Mounted Racing Oil Filter Assembly is one of the rarest components to find, and extremely difficult to manufacture.
With development encompassing 3D scanning, solid modelling and rapid prototyping. As the factory did, we started casting in magnesium but suffered all the same period issues such as porosity and casting issues. We took the decision to evolve the production to machining from billet magnesium, post-processing to visually replicate the original cast finish, whilst offering a superior product with regard to strength and durability.
As with the original part, the main filter housing and cap are chromate-coated magnesium. All original manufacturing details have been faithfully reproduced: from the cork gaskets to the spring rates of the pressure relief valves. Each assembly is pressure tested, with the pressure relief valve set to a nominal 7 bar (100psi).
The assembly includes the oil supply tube and the correct support bracket, both precision manufactured and yellow zinc passivate finished.
