Composite Porsche body parts specialist, EB Motorsports, has enjoyed another great weekend’s racing, this time at the Brands Hatch Masters Historic Festival.
Racing in the World Sportscar Masters versus GT40s, Lolas and Chevrons, EB’s Mark Bates qualified fifth, took the as high as second and set fastest lap before handing over to brother James, new to the cockpit this year and currently collecting race licence signatures. James brought the car home an excellent fifth overall.
“P5 overall but another first in class finish for EB Motorsport,” said Mark after the race. “Brands is a beautiful circuit and we were up against some very quick cars, including TWR Jaguar and Rover touring car heroes.
“Once our minor issue in Friday testing was resolved, the car just went quicker and quicker all weekend, revelling in the sunshine. Fastest lap is always a thrill and the result keeps us top of the championship: a solid defence of our 2011 Masters Historic title.”
The next round of the MSA-sanctioned 2012 World Sportscar Masters Series is June 23 and 24 at Dijon, France. Dijon is a terrific circuit offering the drivers similar challenges to Brands Hatch, with an envious sports car heritage. Should be a terrific event: keep it here for more news!
