EB Motorsport is competing in both the the FIA Masters Historic series and the 6 Hours Classic at Spa Francorchamps this weekend.
The Masters event is the penultimate round of the 2013 championship. Mark currently lies second overall behind the joint leaders, who are sharing a sportscar drive.
“We had some luck last time out when the other joint leaders experienced mechanical woes. A little rain would do well for us this weekend and give us a chance to make some more ground up.”
The weather forecast for the race weekend might not help us there, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed. The entry list is stronger than ever, with a huge field running in FIA Masters. Entries for the Spa Six Hours are also at an all time high, with well known Porsche names right through the field. Mark has a drive in Steve Winter’s 1965 2-litre 911 and is really looking forward to it.
“Steve can’t drive this weekend, so when he offered me a shared run in the 1965 car, I just couldn’t say no. I know the work these guys put into the car and really appreciate the opportunity. We’ve got our own 2-litre in build at Tuthill Porsche, so running a short wheelbase car will be fun.”
Following a satisfying performance in Zandvoort, James is also looking forward to being back on track at Spa in our Guards Red 911 3.0 RS. “If it’s dry we’ll have fun, and if it’s wet we’ll have fun,” says James. “Every lap around Spa is a learning experience, but it’s also a lap around Spa. I just love the place.”
We’re looking forward to some good racing this weekend. More news as it happens!
